With half time approaching Aron Burns was lucky to stay on the pitch following a very nasty tackle in Phil Jones.
Five minutes before the interval Smith and mark Griffiths had efforts blocked with Connahs Quay defence at sixes and sevens.
A minute later the vital goal arrived when a cross from the right was hammered into the roof of the net by livewire Griffiths giving McCormick no chance. In the second half the game remained very open with the visitors looking comfortably on the ball. After 52 minutes Jones was at his very best when he turned in mid air to brilliantly push over Buths 20 yard effort from the resulting corner Smith as forced to clear off his own goal line.
With Caersws continually causing problems down the right Chris- Melia shot over the 72 mins Connahs Quay continued to look dangerous but tremendous Holt and Steve Rowlands and
Graham Jones, kept gap at Bay. After 80mins Dave Jones saved from Burns and 3 mins later the same player struck a post following good work by Hayes.
However Caersws still created chances in the final 6mins and held out for a superb victory. It was very pleasing to see a good nucleolus of local players in the squad. All the hard work put in by everyone is beginning to pay dividends.
